Today, we have Storm Isha approaching the UK, and the wind is getting up already. I suspect it will be even worse when darkness falls. I’m staying in and doing my exercise on a treadmill. It is on medical advice, of course.
I’ve started today’s post with a picture of the Walsall Canal as it leaves Wednesbury and winds its way toward Toll End. It shows how nice the canal looks in summer and also shows how good my pictures are taken with my Nikon D750. I hope I can take a few more pictures this summer. Going out in the cold isn’t very good for my health.
If we follow the Walsall Canal, we end up here, outside the New Art Gallery. It is a pleasant waterfront, at least most of the time. There have been times when green algae covered the water and people stepped on it thinking it was grass and went in and there have been instances of cars driving in the canal.
Anyway, I used to get enough exercise walking about on the canals and nature reserves but I now have limited mobility and the doc says I need to exercise so I do it bit by bit on a treadmill. I am assured that over three months of this punishment my mobility will improve. Such is life and getting older. Many of my friends are on statins and blood thinners and trying to avoid strokes and heart attacks. I read getting enough potassium can help you avoid such mishaps so I ordered some capsules so I can top my my potassium requirement each day. I already take folic acid, magnesium and a few other pills each day. We have to try to keep everything working! I’m wearing out but a little lubrication might slow the process!
